Things that make me wretch for $100 please Alex
I was shopping with Ethel the other day. We went to Nob Hill to get a few things on our way to Whole Foods to get a few other things. At the top of our list was horse radish - with Passover coming up, those gefilte fish will need something to add flavor. Nob Hill carries Silver Spring organic horse radish - great stuff - not only is it organic, but it tastes great and has a nice kick to it.
Lucky us - it was on sale - a clearance sale though. We panicked a bit, thinking they were going to stop carrying it and thought "let's get a couple of bottles." Then we looked at the expiration date to make sure it would last long enough..
Bzzzt, wrong answer. The newest bottle on the shelf expired April 3 (that would have expired last week). There were a bunch from last October (six months ago). But the winner was this one:
Wowsers! Nearly a year old. I guess we know why Nob Hill had it on clearance, Ethel and I were the only ones who ever bought it (I'm going to go on a limb and guess that they knew it had all expired when they put it on clearance and were just hoping no one else would notice)
